It’s our Wedding Anniversary!

Thirty six years ago today . . . August 24, 1974. We don’t have a lot of photos from our wedding day, only 30 photos to be exact. (No, I did not leave off a zero). I wish we had more! Most of the photos in our little album are formal ones with a few ceremony shots and the cake cutting. It was definitely not the “story telling” wedding photos we do for our clients today but, then again, that was not the style of wedding photography back then. The thing I think I miss the most is we don’t really have any candid photos. It would have been so nice to look back and see our guests and family in a lot more of the photos; in particular, my parents. When we photograph a wedding, formal photos are definitely important but we also focus on the joy and interaction between people along with site photos and all the little details that make a wedding special because having that sort of memory years later, is what really makes your photos even more special.

One more blast from the past!

Looking forward to a nice day today!

Too cute! You haven’t changed a bit 🙂 Love the blue!

I want the new, updated, and not on the hottest day of the year, re-creation photo.

Pat, do you still have the dress or a piece of the bouquet? Mark, I am assuming you rented

the blue tux, too bad!, would have loved to see you put that on again.

Congrats, you two! Looking forward to #37!

You two look as cute now as you looked 36 years ago. More imporantly the genuine sweetness of your souls shines through even more brightly now then it did then.

You are two very special sweet souls who deserve every happiness you can experience on this and every one of your anniversaries yet to come!

May God continue to richly bless you both!

The “now photo” probably won’t happen today as this is the hottest day in Napa for the year! (108 degrees, maybe 110) and I don’t think Mark wants to go outside and set up a tripod to capture the “beautiful light”. Had a wonderful anniversary lunch at Mustards Grill.

Ohhhhh auntie! Happppppppy anniversary!! I’d type out the anniversary song but not sure how many characters this box allows me to type (smile). Wedding anniversaries are the BEST! So what happened to a now picture? Hope you have a great anniversary dinner, love and hugs to you both!!

Wow! You have 36 photos–that’s a WHOLE roll of 35mm. ; ) I wonder what photographers did the rest of the time they weren’t taking any photos? You sure had a cute flower girl at your wedding! : )

What a great day, even though you have only 30, l have 36 of our wedding. I guess back in the day, they only took the standard shots. Let’s hope our memories don’t fade. Love you and Mark.
