Erika & Alex are engaged!

We had fun photographing a newly engaged couple on their recent trip to Napa Valley. I love the joyous expression on Erika’s face in this defining moment.

Alex –Thank you for letting me know you’ve received your package! It is nice to hear how pleased you are with the photos and glad to hear how much you enjoyed the experience. You would have never known that it had been raining earlier in the day. : ) Again, congratulations on your engagement!

For the love of dogs

The life of a wedding photographer is filled with millions of wonderful images taken throughout their career. Today I took a brief departure from the whirl-wind-world of wedding photography to play a bit and enjoyed looking at work I have not yet shared (all the while still sitting in front of my computer LOL).

There is nothing quite like the unconditional love of a dog. They are always happy to see you, don’t care what you look like in the morning and are delighted to listen to your endless chatter. You are their world and they don’t ever tire of eating the same meal day after day.

That was a nice indulgence . . . I should make the time to do that more often.

Sarah & Sal’s Wedding

It was so delightful spending the day with Sarah and Sal as we navigated our way up valley from Napa to St. Helena and then our final destination in Angwin. This first photo is one of my favorites of the day as it makes me think of how this young couple are starting their lives together standing next to this old and interesting tree with all of it’s twists and turns, which appropriately reflects how life really is. Even the weather that day was quite variable starting out with sunshine and then driving to the ceremony in hail and back to sunshine again after the ceremony! I hope you enjoy this selection of a few of my favorite photos.

I love this recessional shot that shows Sal’s dog, Solomon, looking over his shoulder as Sarah and Sal pass by. He layed quitely throughout the entire ceremony and was also included in the family photos. I love to shoots weddings that include pets!

Caroline & Brian’s Wedding

For this East Coast couple, Churchill Manor was the perfect destination choice for their West Coast nuptials! Their celebration was filled with family and friends who enjoyed their Napa Valley experience. A few of our favorite photos follow to give you a glimpse into their day.

Pretty bridal portrait with lovely light.

As a little girl on Long Island, I can remember having our rotary dial telephone in the hallway resting on a piece of furniture we called a “gossip bench” similar to the style shown here. Months prior to her wedding day, Caroline mentioned to me she would like to be photographed in this spot.

Although the wedding day’s focus is directed toward the bride and groom, it always tickles me to see the reaction of the rest of the guests. Here, as the parents proceed out the front doors of the inn with their daughter, Mark captures the moment of pure joy on the face of the mother of the bride.

Thank you so much, Patricia and Mark!! Wow – the photos are stunning and really capture our joy and the spirit of the day. We had so much fun with you guys. I wish we could do it all over again!

Annette & Sunder

Time seems to pass by so quickly and when I received an email from Annette saying they were planning a trip back to the Napa Valley to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary, it really didn’t seem like so long ago that we photographed their wedding at Auberge du Soleil. They decided they wanted to document their trip with some photos at Auberge du Soleil where they were once again staying. It was so good to see them again! Enough talk….onto the photos.

A quick trip down memory lane with a photo taken during their wedding ceremony with their first kiss as husband and wife. The sky was dark and cloudy on their wedding day; being they were having an outdoor ceremony, I remember the staff did not put the chairs out for the ceremony until the last minute thinking the rain could start at any moment. As it turned out, we escaped the rain except for maybe a few sprinkles that day.

Five years later and it was sunny and warm for their anniversary.

I love looking at all the fabulous art work on display each time I am at Auberge.
