Ziggy’s El Dorado

Earlier this month I had a blog post entitled “For the love of dogs”. The following was not at all planned but gives me the opportunity to share some candid humor with all you cat lovers out there. To tell you the truth, I didn’t think kitty would hang around for this series of photos but to my amazement and delight, he did. Here he sees me approaching and I think he is as interested in what I am doing as I am in what he is doing. He just sat there with his eyes following me as I walked around the car.

This cracked me up . . . it’s as if he is thinking “if I can’t see her, she can’t see me”.

He pops his head back up after a few seconds of ducking behind the mirror. “Oops, she’s still there”.

He couldn’t resist any further as he walked up to me to purr and get a little head scratching.

So, if you leave your windows down while visiting our neighborhood, please check and make sure Ziggy isn’t a passenger in your vehicle when you leave. : )

Ohhhhh auntie I lovvvvved it!! If it weren’t you sending me this I wouldn’t of believed that a cat would be so curious and stay put for the pictures, great job!! Looking forward to seeing you and uncle Mark at the bbq next weekend! (HUGS)

A funny coincidence happened while photographing a Napa Valley wedding . . .

We had a funny coincidence happen this weekend while at Harvest Inn photographing a wedding. As Mark was doing some pre-ceremony portraits of the groom, another couple approached him and asked if he worked with Patricia. Mark said “yes”. They said, you guys photographed our wedding here at Harvest Inn five years ago! They just so happened to be visiting Harvest Inn from the east coast while we were there and were not part of the wedding we were photographing. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to say hello as I was on another area of the property photographing the bride but was glad Mark took a quick photo of them. Thought it would be nice to also post a photo from their wedding day.

Photo taken August 6, 2005. Happy (early) Anniversary!

It’s a small world…

Thanks so much for the photo! It was really nice to see you.

We are so happy you captured our wedding.

Everything is so vivid (even 5 years later!) thanks to you.

Erika & Alex are engaged!

We had fun photographing a newly engaged couple on their recent trip to Napa Valley. I love the joyous expression on Erika’s face in this defining moment.

Best wishes!

For the love of dogs

The life of a wedding photographer is filled with millions of wonderful images taken throughout their career. Today I took a brief departure from the whirl-wind-world of wedding photography to play a bit and enjoyed looking at work I have not yet shared (all the while still sitting in front of my computer LOL).

There is nothing quite like the unconditional love of a dog. They are always happy to see you, don’t care what you look like in the morning and are delighted to listen to your endless chatter. You are their world and they don’t ever tire of eating the same meal day after day.

That was a nice indulgence . . . I should make the time to do that more often.

Sarah & Sal’s Wedding

It was so delightful spending the day with Sarah and Sal as we navigated our way up valley from Napa to St. Helena and then our final destination in Angwin. This first photo is one of my favorites of the day as it makes me think of how this young couple are starting their lives together standing next to this old and interesting tree with all of it’s twists and turns, which appropriately reflects how life really is. Even the weather that day was quite variable starting out with sunshine and then driving to the ceremony in hail and back to sunshine again after the ceremony! I hope you enjoy this selection of a few of my favorite photos.

Their first meet couldn’t have been more perfect under an archway of clusters of magnificent roses.

I love this recessional shot that shows Sal’s dog, Solomon, looking over his shoulder as Sarah and Sal pass by. He layed quitely throughout the entire ceremony and was also included in the family photos. I love to shoots weddings that include pets!

Our final destination was Sylvan Manor with this incredible wrought iron gate at the entrance.

Congratulations and best wishes!
